As I mentioned before, the landscape in Surrey has inspired me and my paintings.  This Spring the Surrey Hills jolted me out of the Winter grays and into the  yellow oranges of sunshine preceding the upcoming Summer.  The Color is wonderfully bold and consumed me.  The fields of Rapeseed are vast and the farmers here grow the crops for the production of animal feed, vegetable oil and biodiesel.

On my weekly runs to the Waitrose grocery store I keep seeing this beautiful door located in the parking lot.  The door is old and the paint is peeling however the color green is so magnificent I keep thinking about it for inspiration on a painting.  The green is so pure, and full of life.  It reminds me of the color of green grass or the first buds of leaves on trees in the spring.

London, UK - Tate Modern Art Museum

There was a special exhibit within the museum showing an artist I admire, Paul Klee. I really identified with this excerpt from his diary about his feeling regarding color and and how it "possesses" him.

Another one of my favorite artists was shown, the german artist Gerhard Richter. I love his use of color and the textural nature of his paintings.
